This policy explains how Scoutboard collects, uses, and protects your information. Scoutboard is currently in beta, and this policy reflects how the product works today. We will update it as the product evolves.
Scoutboard is a recruiting platform that connects college football scouts with high-school player profiles submitted by teams. Scouts use Scoutboard to search for and evaluate prospects. High-school teams and coaches use Scoutboard to upload player profiles and make them visible to scouts. We are committed to handling your information responsibly and transparently.
Contact information. When you create an account or reach out to us, we may collect your name, email address, and any other information you choose to provide.
Account and login information. We collect your email address for authentication. Scoutboard uses magic links to verify your identity, so we do not store passwords. We also store your role (scout or team) and organization membership.
Scout profile data. Scouts may provide their name, organization, title, and recruiting preferences such as positions, class years, and geographic coverage. This is used to personalize the experience and is visible to members of your scouting organization.
Team and player data. Teams may upload player profiles containing names, positions, school information, measurables (height, weight, combine times), star ratings, film links, and similar recruiting information. Teams are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of the data they submit.
Usage data. We collect standard usage data such as pages visited, features used, and actions taken (for example, adding a player to a board or submitting an evaluation) to help us understand how the product is being used and where we can improve.
Cookies and analytics data. We may use cookies and similar technologies to support site functionality and collect analytics data. See the “Cookies and Analytics” section below and our Cookie Disclosure for more details.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Service providers and vendors. We work with third-party service providers that help us operate Scoutboard, including providers of hosting, authentication, database infrastructure, email delivery, analytics, error monitoring, and product performance tools. These providers only receive information necessary to perform their services and are expected to handle it responsibly.
Legal compliance. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Scoutboard, our users, or the public.
Business transfers. If Scoutboard is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We would notify users of any such change in ownership or control.
Player profiles submitted by a team are private by default. They are not visible to scouts until a team member explicitly publishes them.
Once a team publishes a player profile, it becomes visible to authenticated scouts on Scoutboard. Teams can unpublish a profile at any time, which removes it from scout search results.
Scoutboard uses access controls designed to limit access to scouts' private data (pipeline boards, evaluations, notes, watchlist entries, and assignments) to members of that scout's organization. We do not intentionally share scout organization data with teams or other scouting organizations.
Scoutboard may use cookies and similar technologies to support site functionality, remember preferences, and collect analytics data. We may also use third-party analytics tools to understand site traffic and usage patterns so we can improve the product.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit certain features of the site. For more information, see our Cookie Disclosure.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable timeframe. However, deleting your account may not automatically remove organization-level records, team-submitted player profiles, evaluations, notes, assignments, audit and security logs, or data retained for legal, security, or operational reasons.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Scoutboard uses Supabase for database and authentication infrastructure. Data is stored in the United States. Supabase applies row-level security policies so that each user or organization can access only their own data.
No system is perfectly secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Scoutboard is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Player profile data is submitted by authorized team representatives, not by minors directly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing us at the address below. Because Scoutboard is in beta, we handle these requests manually. Player profile data uploaded by a team may be managed directly within the team portal.
You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe link in our emails.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will communicate material changes to users with active accounts. Your continued use of Scoutboard after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
